Many children’s dental offices just slap on a bright coat of paint and throw a few old toys into the waiting room and call it a day, but at The Dental Specialists Pediatric Dentistry, we continually invest in our practice to improve our level of care and make things more comfortable for our young patients. That’s why you’ll find state-of-the-art technology in our treatment rooms, the same kind that your own dentist (hopefully) uses to provide top-tier care. Read on below to learn about some of the instruments your child will benefit from at their next visit.
Rather than just shining a light and sticking our fingers into your little one’s mouth to examine it, we can take a more sophisticated and gentler approach thanks to our intraoral camera. This small device fits easily into the mouth to capture high-resolution images of the teeth and gums. These can be displayed on a monitor right in the treatment room. This not only makes it easier for our team to spot any potential issues as early as possible, but we can also go over your child’s images with you and them so you both gain a deeper understanding of their dental needs.
Every parent, whether they admit it or not, worries about the radiation their child will be exposed to when getting dental X-rays. It’s OK, we completely understand! That’s why we use 100% digital X-rays. These have several advantages over traditional film, in that the images show much more detail and take a fraction of the time to develop. Plus, last but not least, they emit 90% LESS radiation, giving you one less thing to stress about (which any parent can appreciate!).
