Dental Services for Children of All Ages

Based in Garland, Texas, The Dental Specialists – Pediatric Dentistry provides pediatric dental care for children of all ages. Because we know that visiting the dentist can be a source of anxiety for many children (and adults!), we strive to create a kid-friendly atmosphere that will put them at ease from the moment they walk into our specially designed office. Maintaining open communication with our young patients and their parents is also extremely important to us because it helps us establish trust with your child that will last a lifetime.

Helpful Tips for Preparing for Your Child’s First Visit

Nervous about your child’s first dental visit? Here are some helpful tips for preparing your child for his or her first visit to our dental office:

Tour Our Office

Bringing your child for an office tour prior to their first appointment is a great way to familiarize them with our office and staff so they’re more comfortable when they come back for their first dental checkup.

Establish a Routine

Healthy oral habits begin at home! Make time to brush your teeth with your child at least twice a day using a soft, kid’s size toothbrush and a pea-size amount of toothpaste. Remember to replace your child’s toothbrush at least once every three months.

Avoid Sugary Snacks

The fewer starchy or sugary snacks you give your child, the lower their risks for developing cavities and tooth decay.

Dentist Story Time

There are many children’s books written on the subject of going to the dentist. Reading such stories at bedtime and answering your child’s questions about the dentist should help ease their anxieties.

Ask Questions

We encourage you to ask questions about your child’s dental care. If there’s ever a procedure that you or your child don’t understand, we’d be more than happy to help walk you through it beforehand.
