Read on to learn about 4 things to include in their diet to keep their smile in tip-top shape!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Food #1: Dairy<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>One great way to fortify your little one\u2019s pearly whites is with calcium, which strengthens enamel and prevents tooth decay. It\u2019s found naturally in dairy products like milk, cheese, and yogurt. Remember, though, that some products add processed sugar and other ingredients for more flavor, so be sure to check the nutrition labels before you buy. For example, plain or low-fat Greek yogurt can be very beneficial but you\u2019re just as likely to find yogurt flavors sweetened with sugar marketed to children. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Food #2: Citrus Fruits<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Your child\u2019s teeth rely on their gums for a strong foundation which means you\u2019ll need to protect those, too. They\u2019ll need to consume vitamin C to support their connective tissues because human bodies don\u2019t produce it on their own. It promotes collagen creation as well as fights infection which keeps gum disease at bay. Citrus fruits like oranges, grapefruits, and lemons are full of this essential ingredient. If your kid doesn\u2019t enjoy orange slices or is displeased by the texture, try giving them a low-sugar or pulp-free juice, instead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Food #3: Leafy Greens<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Leafy greens like spinach, kale, and broccoli also have plenty of vitamin C in addition to calcium, but that\u2019s not all! They also contain helpful amounts of vitamin A that contribute to saliva production. Spit is your child\u2019s natural defense against harmful bacteria, acid damage, and enamel erosion. That means munching on this vegetation helps in more ways than one. If they balk at the sight of green on their plate, try introducing it to them slowly. You might cut it into tiny pieces and hide it in their favorite meal, so they don\u2019t even know they\u2019ve eaten any!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Food #4: Water<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Skip sodas and sugary beverages and encourage your kid to drink water, instead. It\u2019ll rinse their mouths clear of any leftover food pieces that attract cavity-inducing germs. It also has a neutral pH value to prevent acid erosion of their enamel.
